A fellow forumer on SMH mentioned her TCM recommended this brand of LRD Tea with Ginger.. See the Ginger bits floating in the drink? Its quite spicy and as a non-lover of Ginger.. I have to gulp down a cup everyday.. All for you, baby...

Reached at 830 this morning to do my scan.. Ended up waiting till 1015 before I managed to see the doc for review!

I have 4 follies on my right ranging 7-10mm and 5 follies on my left ranging from 6-9.5mm.. Lining is at 5.5mm triple..

Doc says its still early as I only had 3 days of injections before the scan but the growth seems OK.. *phew*

Added another injection - Ganirelix for the next 3 days to prevent ovulation on my own...

Next scan on Saturday morning.. Hope these follies grow strong and big!

Haha.. You must be wondering what the hell? What has socks got to do with IVF.. It has OK! We have to keep our body warm so the womb is also warm and ready.. Wearing socks will help keep temperature, esp in aircon rooms.. When I first put them on yesterday, L gave me the WTH look on his face.. Lolx...

This is how the injection pen looks like.. L days it's a simple equipment with a v sophisticated idea.. Haha.. In short, I think whoever thought of this was a genius.. Now patients can self administer jabs at home! It has a dial at the tip u can adjust to decide the dosage to jab.. Cool eh?

Officially started IVF cycle yesterday.. Was @ KKIVF early in the morning for scan.. All checked out OK and headed to the pharmacy for my Puregon.

Next up was a session by the nurse to teach us how to administer the jab.. The medicine is to be jabbed into my lower tummy area..

Nurse: OK, so u just push the needle in and inject the Med into ur tummy..
Me: <look at nurse, look back at needle, look back at nurse (very likely with fear in my eyes)>
Nurse: <with this secret smile on her face, used her hand and pushed the needle in> Not pain at all one!
Me: Ouch! <kenna bluff, its pain lor>

But seriously, it was just an ant bite sensation.. When L did the jab for me this morning.. There was no pain even..

So the plan is jab for 3 days.. The last jab being tomorrow and back to kkivf for scan on Thursday..

Current dosage is 133.3... Nurse says another type of Med will be added once the eggs start to grow..

Grow my eggies! Grow big and strong ok? =)

Was waiting all day yesterday for menses to start and finally, after lunch time, it started to flow.. Made a call to KKIVF and was told to go for scan on Monday morning and collect my injections..

Getting all jittery, worried and excited all at the same time...

Hope everything goes shun shun and one month later, there's good news!

Still hasn't started full flow of AF.. These a little reddish brown when I wipe though.. Probably tommorrow..

Anyways, here's listing down the food/supplements regime I'm following for this cycle...

(1) Ensure Milk
I HATE the taste of powdered milk! But this milk has many vitamins and most importantly selenium which helps implantation.. So whether I hate it or not, I will down 1 cup a day! I bought the strawberry flavoured one, hopefully wont taste as bad..

(2) Brazil Nuts
3 per day.. Contains natural selenium too.. Again, aids in implantation

(3) Egg Whites
At least 2 per day.. Helps to improve egg quality and quantity.. At the same time can help reduce symptoms of OHSS.. Planning to boil them the night before and have them for breakfast..

(4) Longan Red Date Tea with Ginger
Helps to warm the tummy..

(5) Lots of isotonic drink and H2O
The above items are all pretty heaty so must drink more water and more isotonic drink is to reduce symptoms of OHSS too..

(6) Supplements - Fish Oil, CoQ10, Topic Acid

NO cold drinks and ice cream and anything too cooling..

That's all I can remember.. For now.. Haha.. L says all these can replace one meal in a day already, which is quite true.. =p
